I.What Is Officially Known
Everything here comes from the official Tokyo 2026 pre-event briefing by Pascal Rüger (September 16, 2026) — read in full on the sister page.
時The shape of the evening
- 13:00–22:00 — registration and check-in, Toranomon Hills Forum (4F + 5F).
- 18:30 — dinner.
- 20:00 — the Opening Ceremony, on the main stage (4F).
- 20:00–21:00 — hacking begins, right out of the ceremony. Thirty-six hours later, to the hour: submissions due Sunday 09:00.
迎What an opening ceremony is for
By the official shape of the weekend, the ceremony is the door between two kinds of time: before it, an afternoon of registration, partner booths, workshops, and team formation; after it, thirty-six unbroken hours in the hacking rooms above the city.
The room that night held the people the weekend belonged to: the hackers, the six partner teams at their green-table booths, the mentors in yellow vests, and the ETHGlobal crew who would keep the venue open around the clock until Sunday's closing — when the top ten teams take this same main stage for finalist demos, around 15:00.
葉A note from the room
Shaka was in the room — his own notes arrive when he surfaces.
When they do, this page grows: what was said, what was felt, and what the opening of ETHGlobal's Tokyo homecoming actually sounded like from the floor.
